Just in time to hit showrooms this fall, the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack recently received a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.1
So what does it take to receive NHTSA’s 5-star overall safety rating? The rating is determined by government’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), which is run by NHTSA, and includes front, side and rollover crash tests.
Like the other Golf models, the Alltrack is engineered to meet or exceed all current crash regulations. It features passive and active safety systems, including six airbags2 as standard, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System and an Intelligent Crash Response System.3
The Golf Alltrack joins its Golf brethren—Golf, Golf GTI, Golf R and Golf SportWagen—as well as the Passat, Jetta, and Beetle Coupe as 2017 VW models that have received a 5-Star overall rating.
