A Better Used-Car Buying Experience
With more used vehicles on the market, it’s harder to understand what you’re buying — and there are more potential pitfalls. To help avoid any unwelcome surprises, consider the Volkswagen WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program.
Over ninety percent of U.S. Volkswagen dealers participate in the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program, which offers great Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen models. All vehicles must be no older than current or previous six model years and have fewer than 75,000 miles with a full history report available.
A Thorough Dealer Inspection
Vehicles in the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program are examined by a dealership technician, who completes a thorough inspection. This dealer inspection includes the exterior to interior, mechanicals, underbody, and road test points. There are checks for antennas and oil levels, axle operation and window controls, steering alignment and engine codes, and more. What does that mean? WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned customers get a top-to-bottom, front-to-back review, with repairs or replacements as needed.
Peace of Mind
As part of the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program, every Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen includes a 2-year or 24,000-mile (whichever occurs first) limited warranty1 and two years of Roadside Assistance.2 That’s reassurance for you and it helps make buying a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle feel almost just like buying new. In addition, at Volkswagen dealerships other Vehicle Makes, known as Quality Pre-Owned, are also inspected and receive a 12-month or 12,000-mile (whichever occurs first) limited warranty3 and one year of Roadside Assistance.4 You may also be able to take advantage of special offers, including financing options.
The result? Great service plus a great used-car sales experience — all thanks to your local Volkswagen dealer and the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program.
Buying a Used Car? Try These Tips.
1. Consider the seller.
With the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program, there’s no worry — your seller is your trusted Volkswagen dealer. In fact, over 90 percent of Volkswagen dealers participate in the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program. If you buy from a private seller, you won’t have the benefit of an included warranty (part of the Volkswagen WorldAuto program).
2. Know the car’s history.
The WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned Program provides a vehicle history report for each vehicle in inventory. In a private sale, you might need to research accidents or other damage on your own. You’ll also need to verify the title, which details owners and history, and request a service record and mechanic inspection. With the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program, the history is provided and the thorough 112-point dealer inspection offers peace of mind.
3. Check the mileage.
All cars in the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned Program must have fewer than 75,000 miles, whereas private sellers have no such restrictions. You’ll also need to note if the condition of the car seems to match the miles on the odometer.
4. Go on a test drive.
Enjoy the drive in vehicles covered by the WorldAuto Certified Pre-Owned program, thanks to the dealer inspection and reconditioning process. Remember: Any test drive should include a variety of conditions and types of roads.
